Libraries and Parks and Recreation

Libraries and Parks & Recreation events are offered at a discounted rate.  These are the only organizations we have discounts for.  It’s called Hands-On-Henna and is a 1-2 hour class/lecture for $200.  You have 2 options to choose from.  Both options cost the same and take the same amount of time.

Visit Our Calendar to View Our Next Event

OPTION #1:  I’ll teach up to 12 students how to use a cone and they make Henna designs on themselves.  We go over the aftercare info, I show them how to use the cones, they practice on paper then pick out a design and I draw it on them with pen.  Then they trace over it with Henna.  This class is designed to get students to believe that they can do something even if they think it’s hard or that they don’t have any artistic talent.  This class offers students the opportunity to experience success and is best suited for ages 9 and older.  I’ll need tables and chairs for all students.  If there is a white or chalkboard, I’ll use it but it’s not necessary.

OPTION #2:  I’ll give a short lecture and do a henna sample on up to 30 people.  We talk about the history of henna and some of the traditional uses as well as designs and their meanings.  We discuss people experiences with getting or doing henna themselves.  They do a short exercise where they create a design on a paper hand or foot using some of the designs with meanings we discussed in the lecture.  This option is great for facilities that think they will get a larger number of people interested in attending or want to be able to open it up to adults as well as kids.  I’ll need chairs for attendees and a small table with 2 chairs for me to do the henna samples.  If there is a white or chalkboard I’ll use it but it’s not necessary.

Late Night Programs through the Parks and Recreation are also a 2 hr. program for $200.  I simply come and do henna on kids.  For this type of event we usually bring a smaller design book of about 80 designs.  This book is changed every year in January to keep the ideas fresh.  It has designs that appeal to kids and adults.  It also has a range of traditional as well as tattoo style pieces.  These designs are medium sized so that we can do them in just a few min.  That way we can work very fast and get to everyone that wants to experience Mehndi Madness!
