Henna and Your Pregnancy
By: Krysteen Lomonaco ~
Krysteen at Mehndi Madness had the pleasure to do henna on Marci's belly for her first and second pregnancy. She graciously shared these amazing photos taken by Jane Speleers. The photos seem to highlight the henna but don't detract from the beautiful pregnant Marci.
Women often henna their pregnant bellies after the seventh month of pregnancy. It symbolizes the purity of the mother and protects her and the child through the birthing process. Most designs are large mandalas, starting in the middle and building to a size that encompasses most of the belly.
